AASLD supports global collaboration for liver health and disease management. Our global mission is to provide worldwide engagement and collaboration with professional societies through education, research and clinical practice in liver diseases. We support productive interactions with both national and international constituents through partnerships with scientific liver-related associations worldwide.
AASLD sponsors and endorses scientific and educational programs initiated by other organizations that focus on the science and/or practice of hepatology. Programs are selected based on AASLD mission alignment, member benefit and prudent use resources.

Organizations eligible to request sponsorship or endorsement:
Meetings/Conferences without a formal societal structure, lay organizations, individual universities or departments, and local or city-based societies are ineligible for sponsorship or endorsement.
What is AASLD Sponsorship?
What is AASLD Endorsement?
Sponsorship support will range from $1,000-$15,000 to be used for either speaker support or travel awards.
AASLD will cover travel expenses for speakers. Speakers must be deemed appropriate for the topic and a preference will be given to AASLD member speakers.
Trainee travel grants
AASLD will provide travel grants for AASLD members, including trainee members, and on occasion for non-member trainees, attending the program. The amount of the individual grant must be within existing AASLD policies. AASLD will disburse the grant to the society with the expectation that the travel award be given at the time of the meeting. The organizer will verify awardee attendance and report to AASLD post-conference. Awardees not in attendance are not eligible to receive a travel award and the society will return unused funds to AASLD.
Endorsement may require an administrative fee of up to $5,000 from the requesting organization. Endorsement provides use of the AASLD name and logo to scientific or educational programs initiated by other organizations to indicate AASLD’s intellectual support and the integrity of the program.
Applications for sponsorship and endorsement are reviewed by the Global Outreach and Engagement Committee, which will determine whether the eligibility requirements are met based on the submitted application and supporting information. AASLD reserves the right to decline any request without comment.
